Changes in Version 10.0.1

Version 10.0

VT Print Support in Workplace Client Technology Environments

When using VT sessions in Workplace Client Technology environments, the default printer 'LPT1' does not work as a printer definition. You must specify
'\\?\LPT1' in the Printer Name field on the Printer panel in the VT sessions properties instead.

Supported Host Print Transform printer models for i5/OS

See IBM eServer iSeries Support: Software Technical Documentation to find the latest supported printer models for the i5/OS if your printer is not listed in the Host On-Demand session properties for a 5250 Printer session.

Configuring Lotus Domino

Refer to How to configure Lotus Domino Web Server Version 6.5 for Host On-Demand for instructions on configuring the Lotus Domino Web Server.

Changes in Version 10.0.1

DBCS Support in 5250 Unicode Field on SBCS Session

Currently DBCS characters in 5250 Unicode fields are displayed correctly only when the session is configured with a DBCS host code page, like Japanese 939. If you want Host On-Demand to display DBCS characters in 5250 Unicode fields on a session configured with an SBCS host code page, like US 037, you can do so by using the new HTML Parameter useDBCSInDBCSUnicodeField.

Possible values for this parameter include the following:

True:  Display DBCS characters in 5250 Unicode fields even on a session configured with an SBCS host code page.

False:  Display DBCS characters in 5250 Unicode fields only on a session configured with a DBCS host code page.  This is the default value.

Considerations when using the Microsoft Windows XP SP2

In the Host On-Demand documentation, IBM recommends that a Java 2 JRE not be used as the default Java Runtime for Microsoft Internet Explorer.  It is also recommended that the Internet Explorer browser not use the Java 2 JRE for <applet>HTML tags in Tools->Internet Options->Advanced.  These recommendations were made with the assumption that the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) would be on the local computer.  Because the Microsoft JVM is not being shipped with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you must have the Java 2 JRE be the default Java Runtime for Internet Explorer.  This is configured in the Java Plug-in Control Panel under Browsers.  You must also select the checkbox for using a Java 2 JRE for <applet> in Tools->Internet Options->Advanced.

Note: If you have upgraded to Microsoft XP Service Pack 2 from a previous version of Windows, you will likely still have the Microsoft JVM because the upgrade will not remove it if it exists.  New machines that come with XP SP2 from the factory will not have this JVM and a Java 2 JRE must be the default Java Runtime.

Updates to Host On-Demand print support

The following changes have been made to the Host On-Deman print support to alleviate customer issues:

  1. For the United States and Canda, the default Characters Per Inch is still 10 but for other countries and regions, the default Characters Per Inch has been changed from 10 to 12.
  2. Additional changes have been made when a Printer Definiton Table (PDT) is used. If a new parameter, OVERRIDE_DEFAULTS?=YES, is found in the PDT, the values in the PDT for the following properties will be used if present.
PARAM_MAXIMUM_PAGE_LENGTH
PARAM_MAXIMUM_PRINT_POSITION
PARAM_CHARACTERS_PER_INCH
PARAM_LINES_PER_INCH
PARAM_COMPRESS_LINE_SPACING
PARAM_PRINT_NULLS_AS_SPACES
PARAM_COMPRESS_AUTO_NL_WHEN_CR_AT_MPP_PLUS_1
PARAM_COMPRESS_AUTO_NL_WHEN_NL_AT_MPP_PLUS_1
PARAM_FORM_FEED_ANY_POSITION
PARAM_IGNORE_FORM_FEED_AT_FIRST_POS
PARAM_FORM_FEED_TAKES_POSITION
PARAM_DRAW_FIELD_ATTRIBUTE_BYTE
PARAM_IGNORE_ATTRIBUTES
PARAM_INHERIT_PARAMETERS
PARAM_SEND_SENSE_CODE
PARAM_TRACTOR
PARAM_PRINTER_FONT_CODE_PAGE

Note:  If the parameter OVERRIDE_DEFAULTS?=YES is not found, the values found in the session properties will be used instead of the values in the PDT.

DoNotPrefillUser html parameter

When using the configuration server-based model and logging on to Host On-Demand, this parameter can be used to prevent having the Userid field be automatically prefilled with the client system logon userid. Possible values for this parameter include the following:

True:  The Userid field in the Host On-Demand logon panel is not prefilled.

False:  The Userid field in the Host On-Demand logon panel is prefilled with the client system logon userid.  This is the default value.

Remapping support

New support has been added to allow remapping of the numeric digits (0-9), as well as the # and * keys.

Ignore macro pausetime attribute when running in a contention-resolution environment

The ability to ignore the macro pausetime attribute when running in a contention-resolution environment is now available. A new attribute, "ignorepausetimeforenhancedtn", has been added to the <HAScript> macro element. This attribute allows you to ignore both the pausetime attribute in <HAScript> and the pause attribute in <screen>.  Possible values for this attribute include:

True:  Both the pausetime attribute in <HAScript> and the pause attribute in <screen> are ignored. No pause occurs after input/prompt actions or between screens. This is the default value.

False:  The pausetime attribute in <HAScript> and the pause attribute in <screen> are not ignored.

Note that ignorepausetimeforenhancedtn has no effect when running in a non-contention-resolution environment. That is, even if ignorepausetimeforenhancedtn is true, the pausetime attribute in <HAScript> and the pause attribute in <screen> will not be ignored if running in a non-contention-resolution environment.

See the Macro Programming Guide for information on ignorepauseforenhancedtn and delayifnotenhancedtn, two other attributes that affect the way that macros are executed in a contention-resolution environment. To view or modify the value for ignorepausetimeforenhancedtn, use the Code Editor of the Macro Editor.
